The Battle Tower (Endless Mode) is Pokelike's ultimate endgame. Success depends on drafting a cohesive roster to activate Type Traits (synergy tiers) based on the overlapping types of your party, while surviving escalating level requirements and curated boss teams.

This guide details the shiny multipliers, the 18-type synergies list, stage scaling math, gen gating thresholds, and the legendary stage bosses.

🌟 The Shiny Multiplier Rule

Before checking synergies, understand the cornerstone of endless mode:

[!TIP]

  • Shiny Modifier: A Shiny Pokémon counts as 2 counts of each of its types (instead of 1).
  • Example: A standard Magneton (Electric/Steel) adds +1 Electric and +1 Steel. A Shiny Magneton adds +2 Electric and +2 Steel to your active team synergy pool!
  • This makes Shiny Pokémon incredibly high-value drafts, allowing you to easily trigger Tier 2 (4 count) and Tier 3 (6 count) traits with fewer team slots.

🗼 Battle Tower Type Synergies (18 Types)

Synergies are recomputed before each fight. Most traits trigger at counts of 2 (Tier 1), 4 (Tier 2), and 6 (Tier 3). Steel is the only exception, scaling up to 10 (Tier 5).

🔩 Special Synergy: Steel

Steel scaling reaches five tiers to support super-tanky defensive compositions:

  • Tier 1 (2 counts): Reduce incoming damage by 15%.
  • Tier 2 (4 counts): Reduce incoming damage by 30%.
  • Tier 3 (6 counts): Reduce incoming damage by 45%.
  • Tier 4 (8 counts): Reduce incoming damage by 60%.
  • Tier 5 (10 counts): Reduce incoming damage by 75%.

📈 Endless Mode Numerical progression

The Battle Tower scales up level caps and enemy team size based on the current stage and region:

1. Team Size Scaling (Regions)

Each stage is divided into 3 regions of 3 maps (9 slots total). Progressing through regions increases both level scaling and enemy team size:

  • Slot 1–2 (Region 1): Enemy team size of 2.
  • Slot 3–4 (Region 2): Enemy team size of 3.
  • Slot 5–6 (Region 3): Enemy team size of 4.
  • Slot 7–8 (Region 3 Bosses): Enemy team size of 5.
  • Slot 9 (Stage Boss): Enemy team size of 6.

2. Stage Level Scaling Formula

The levels of enemy trainer and boss teams increase dynamically per stage. The exact level formula is:

$$stageBonus = \lfloor 1.5 \times localSlot \times (stageNum - 1) \rfloor$$

Where:

  • localSlot: The position index within the stage: (regionNum - 1) * 3 + mapIndex (ranges 0 to 8).
  • The base level range is pulled from the ENDLESS_LEVEL_SLOTS array: [[1, 7], [12, 18], [18, 24], [24, 30], [35, 42], [42, 46], [46, 51], [52, 58], [57, 63]]

[!TIP] Level Escalation: Because localSlot is a multiplier in the bonus formula, later maps in a stage scale much faster than earlier maps as you climb stage counts.

🔓 Spawn Gating & Generation Locks

To balance progression, the game locks both the Pokedex generation availability and wild BST constraints dynamically.

1. Generation Gating

Pokémon availability is capped by National Pokédex ID during early stages to space out the generation pools:

  • Stage 1: ID 1–151 (Gen 1 Kanto only)
  • Stage 2: ID 1–251 (Gen 1 & 2 Johto)
  • Stage 3: ID 1–386 (Gen 1 to 3 Hoenn)
  • Stage 4: ID 1–493 (Gen 1 to 4 Sinnoh)
  • Stage 5: ID 1–649 (Gen 1 to 5 Unova)
  • Stage 6+: ID 1–649 (All generations unlocked)

2. Endless Mode BST Gating

In the Battle Tower, there are no static maps. Instead, the game determines the active Base Stats Total (BST) spawn pool dynamically by mapping the current stage's maximum level limit to an equivalent Map Index:

  • Max Level $\le$ 10: Uses Map 1 (Brock) BST pool (200–310)
  • Max Level $\le$ 20: Uses Map 2 (Misty) BST pool (280–360)
  • Max Level $\le$ 30: Uses Map 4 (Erika) BST pool (340–420)
  • Max Level $\le$ 42: Uses Map 5 (Koga) BST pool (340–420)
  • Max Level $\le$ 52: Uses Map 7 (Blaine) BST pool (400–480)
  • Max Level $>$ 52: Uses Map 8 (Giovanni) BST pool (460–530)
  • Clamped Cap: Any higher scaling clamps to the final map index (min 530, max 999), meaning you will only encounter high-powered and fully-evolved Pokémon in late-game drafts.

👑 Curated Stage Bosses (Stages 1-5)

Each stage ends with a signature boss in Region 3, Map 2 possessing customized traits, rosters, and level offsets:

  1. Stage 1 Boss: Ash Ketchum
    • Ace: Pikachu (gains +5 level offset).
    • Buff: traitBonus: 1 (requires 1 less Pokémon to activate Battle Tower trait tiers).
  2. Stage 2 Boss: Silver
    • Ace: Crobat (gains +5 level offset).
    • Buff: traitBonus: 1.
  3. Stage 3 Boss: Steven Stone
    • Synergy: traitBonus: 2 with 6 Steel Pokémon, forcing active Tier 5 Steel Trait (75% damage reduction).
  4. Stage 4 Boss: Arceus & Cynthia
    • Arceus Mini-Boss: Spawns at levelBonus: 20 and active allTraits: 1 (gains Tier 1 benefits of all 18 types).
    • Cynthia: Spawns at levelBonus: 10 and traitBonus: 1.
  5. Stage 5 Boss: Ghetsis & N
    • Ghetsis Mini-Boss: Active specificTraits: { Dragon: 10 } (maximizes Dragon stat boosts on KO), Kyurem-Black has +10 level offset.
    • N (Stage 5 End): Spawns at levelBonus: 15. Copy and upgrades the player's active Battle Tower traits (copyPlayerTraits: true), making them 1 tier stronger!
  6. Stage 6+ Boss: Elite Master
    • A highly optimized, mixed elite team featuring powerful legendaries to challenge your final Battle Tower strategy.
